About npdr.org
For me, personally, it has been a long recovery from my encounter with an NPD. There were a lot of people that offered advice during my encounter and afterwards. They say it takes a community to raise a child, but equally it takes a community to put a shattered soul back together. For those that were there, I am grateful.
The idea for this site came from an online dating site which has forums (like ours) in which members can communicate about many different topics. One day I was browsing through the forums when I saw a conversation (thread in forum speak) titled Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I already knew what this was, I already knew I had loved an NPD and I had already recovered and was well along the final step of rebuilding. I decided to stop in and I was so amazed at what was being said. So much of what was shared by men and women alike was exactly what I had endured. At one point in the discussion someone suggested this site and I spent the next 5 days creating it. From there it continues to grow as more people join and contribute.
There is no charge for anything on this site. It is here for everyone to use and enjoy for free. Yes, it does cost money to run and maintain this site but we'll let advertisers pay for that. Also, I do get a small commission on books listed in the resource section but only if you click that link when you buy your book.
Finally, I need to again remind everyone that I am not a licensed professional and only a licensed professional can diagnose a person with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. You should use this site and the advice contained herein along with the advice given in the forums as you would any advice you receive from strangers on the street. It may be great advice but ultimately you are responsible for your own choices, actions and the consequences thereof.
